vCSG-3 is a multi-platform group which bases its organizational structure on that of an actual carrier strike group.  CSG-3 strives to create a diverse and challenging training environment which, in turn, results in a high degree of proficiency in a simulated mission environment.  The pilots of CSG-3 are capable of destroying their enemies anywhere within the virtual battle space.

Currently, CSG-3 operates VFA-14 "Tophatters", VMFA-224 "Fighting Bengals" and VFA-86 "Sidewinders" in the F/A-18C Hornet, VF-103 "Jolly Rogers" in the F-14B Tomcat and VMA-513 "Flying Nightmares" in the AV-8B Harrier.
